BIG CANOE TOUR
Engage with the historic Canadian fur trade through an interactive paddling adventure.
Join us in St. Malo Provincial Park for a rewarding canoe tour full of fun and adventure. Your "gouvernail" (guide), will share stories and lore of the Canadian fur trade as you actively participate in a "day in the life" of an 18th century Voyageur (traveller). Our replica "canot du nord" holds up to 12 passengers, so teamwork is part of the fun and challenge.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and taken through a safety briefing and an introduction to paddling. We'll then board the canoe and embark on a tour around St. Malo Lake. The goal is to keep rhythm with your team and enjoy the stories of the "fur trade life" from over a century ago. You'll want to keep a keen eye out for elusive wildlife such as deer, fox, turtles, and migratory waterfowl who sometimes reveal themselves along the shoreline.
The tour is approximately 1.5 hours (90 minutes) long and includes a lesson how to paddle, PFD (lifejacket), paddles, and an experienced canoe guide.
Suitable for ages 5 to 99 as long as children weigh 20lbs and over. No experience required, just a willingness to follow instruction and paddle as a team.
This experience is generously funded by the Travel Manitoba's Tourism Innovation and Recovery Fund.
