About Us

Connecting you with Nature, Adventure, & Canadian Heritage in Manitoba, Canada.
We are a friendly team of local Manitoban wilderness guides, outdoor educators, and certified instructors.

We have a passion to help others experience the lessons and blessings of Manitoba's nature places. As outdoor enthusiasts, we understand the immense value that comes with being immersed in nature, having adventurous experiences, and engaging with our Canadian heritage.

We welcome you to join us for a paddle, hike, some winter camping and everything in between. Our number one priority is having fun and we believe that being outdoors and having can be safe. We use high quality equipment, posses industry standard training, and have extensive experience in the areas we provide our programs.

All of our staff have a minimum of Wilderness Advanced First Aid (40 hours), Outdoor Council of Canada Field Leader, and Paddle Canada certifications.

Matt Peters

Lead Instructor, Wilderness Guide

Matt is the owner/operator of Wilderland Adventure Co. His contagious zeal for the outdoors and passion to empower others creates fun and adventurous trips to be part of when he's leading. If you take a skills or a certification course or an extended wilderness trip, theres a strong chance Matt will be at the helm of your adventure. Since  his first multi-day canoe trip, he has led more than 750 days throughout Manitoba on our popular routes as well as exploring the lesser known gems on his personal time.

Kevin Rempel

Outdoor Education Specialist, Instructor, and Tour Guide

Kevin is our newest team member and brings some of the most outdoor education experience to Wilderland. From 13 years of working in the education system and transitioning to full-time outdoor leadership, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. His passion is to support and enable students to experience the wonders and adventures of the natural world. When not helping educators or leading tours, you may run into Kevin hiking one of our many local trails!

Brent Murray

Outdoor Instructor, Lead Wilderness Guide

Brent has been with Wilderland since the beginning. As a certified Outdoor Council of Canada instructor and experienced wilderness guide, he help pioneer our roster of tours and develop our team of leaders. When he's not leading our trips or teaching courses, you'll find him camping with his new wife or exploring new backcountry routes in the eastern provincial parks.

Ryan Donkersgoed

Lead Wilderness Guide

Ryan has been one of our foundational wilderness guides since we launched Wilderland. He has a true gift for sharing his vast knowledge about the plethora of local flora and fauna. Ryan has paddled, hiked, and winter camped in some of the most remote and challenging regions in the province. This ensures our guests have a sound leader and rewarding experience with a truly fun and zealous guide.
